Herwig Grimm completed his PhD at the Hochschule für Philosophie SJ in Munich in 2010. From 2004 to 2011, he worked as a research associate at the Institute for Technology-Theology-Natural Sciences at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. His academic journey began with studies in philosophy, focusing on ethics and applied ethics, at the universities of Salzburg, Zurich, and Munich from 2000 to 2008. Since 2011, he has been a professor and the head of the unit “Ethics and Human-Animal-Studies” at the Messerli Research Institute of the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, the Medical University of Vienna and the University of Vienna.
